PVCR-AP STATE GOVERNING BOARD MEMBERS:
Mrs.Lalithamma - President
J. Lalithamma,was always known for challenging societal norms that work against the marginalized. She was a part of the NGO called RISE at Tirupathi for some time. Eventually she along with her husband started their own organization called People’s Organization for Rural Development (PORD). PORD works on various issues ranging from gender, domestic violence, child sexual abuse, child marriage, trafficking, children’s education and malnutrition. She is also the Member of A.P. Women Network, the Service provider on DV Act in Chittoor district, A member in Women Power Connect, Delhiand a Member in National fundamental right to education Act Net work, Delhi.
She has received various awards like the Bharathiya Dalith Sahithya Academy-Dr.B.RAmbhedhkar National fellowship award-2014; Best NGO awarded by Madhanapalli fine arts academy -2015; State best citizen awarded by Andhra Pradesh state cultural awareness society-2015; Best Women award by District legal service authority-2015; Bharathiya Dalith Sahithya Academy-SavithriBhaipule National fellowship award-2015.
Lalithamma is the State President at PVCR.
Mr.K.V. Ramana - General Secretary
K.V. Ramana founded PRAGATHI NGO, after working in the social sector with a rural development organization for twelve years. Since 1993 PRAGATHI has been working on various issues affecting the marginalized that include promoting and strengthening Panchayath Raj institutions, mobilization of self-help groups, child labour, gender and health issues. Ramana has extensively worked on the land rights issues of Yanadi tribals in Chittoor district and ensured agriculture land to more than 1500 families and also implemented programmes for the development of those lands through horticulture and agriculture.
Ramana is also the convener for District Anti-Child Marriages Struggle Forum and influenced the government to come out with a successful convergence model which resulted in drastic reduction of child marriages, especially mass child marriages. He played a key role in advocating for the Right to Education Act at national level by joining hands with the national level Alliance that is NAFRE (National Alliance for Fundamental Right to Education and Equity) .He is also the convener for District Samajika Chaitanya Vedhika and the member of Chittoor District Land Reforms Committee. He has been awarded the Best District Youth by Nehru Yuvaka Kendra, Chittoor Dist, 2015; by the Government of India, Ministry of Culture, Entrepreneurship, youth affairs and sports. He has been chosen for Giri Jyothi Award for 2015 for his laudable work with Tribals by the Girijana Ikhya Vedika.
Mr.Pinninti Appala Naidu - Treasurer
P. AppalaNaidu,has in-depth understanding of the problems at grass-root level and has always been standing up against injustice faced by the marginalised. He has taken up various roles of responsibility in the social sector. He was the member of District ICDS committee; he played a key role in conducting the Right to Food and Livelihood campaign, he addressed the issues of child labor, environmental, tribal, land, gender, health and education through networks he is associated with.
He is presently the founder and Secretary of the NGO, SNEHA and the Committee member at the Mandal level for SC, ST and BC as well as the mandal level Education Committee. In addition he is an Associate Member of CADMEY network in coastal Andhra and Member of District level Disaster Preparedness and Mitigation Committee.
Appala Naidu is the Treasurer at PVCR.
Mr.SeshagiriRao - Vice President
JillellaSeshagiriRao has been known to raise his voice against injustice right from his college days. He used to participate in student agitations for obtaining scholarships, protection of reservation system as well as justice for the students belong to the downtrodden and backward communities. He soon began to be involved in other issues like the exploitation of labours, upper caste domination, atrocities on Dalit women.
He was a part of SamanaVidyaSadanaSamithi, a state network that aimed at the protection of Child Rights. He was also associated with PrajaUdyamaIkyaVedika, a Regional Organisation, that works against SEZ and Thermal projects that impact the lives of the poor.
Presently he is the Executive Director for SRAMA Organization and Governing Body member in PVCR.
Mr.Dillibabu - Vice President
Dillibabu is the Founder and chief executive of the grassroots NGO, Community Development Society (CDS). CDS works amongst the poor and deprived communities on issues related to child rights, girl child education, sanitation and health and Environment Activities.
Dillibabu has been working since several years on various social issues like adult education, non-formal education, rural development, Environmental protection, water and sanitation, mangrove regeneration and MGNREGS Activities.
He has been associated with PVCR since 2007. Today heis the district secretary and state governing body member as the state vice-president of PVCR.
Mrs.Vijaya Lakshmi - Joint Secretary
Vijayalaxmi hails from Narsipatnam village of Visakhapatnam District of Andhra Pradesh. Her interest to serve the society made her form Pragathisiri Swatchanda Seva Samstha in the year 2002. Pragathisiri works in the fields of education, health, environment protection, HIV/AIDS, women’s legal help, child rights, women’s development and legal help for women. Inspired by the objectives of the AP CSS Campaign (AP Common School System Campaign), she joined in the state alliance ever since it formed in the year 2008 and actively took part in all the activities. Even as the APCSS Campaign transformed into People’s Voice for Child Rights, she was much more drawn towards the vision of PVCR and played a key role in strengthening of the Alliance activities in Visakhapatnam.
Vijayalaxmi’s involvement in the right to education campaign, malnutrition campaign, addressing the issues in schools and social welfare hostels, girl child protection issues, conducting the micro studies, conducting fact finding missions, cyclone relief works, etc. have contributed a lot in protecting the rights of many children in the district. She has good rapport with local media and highlighted many issues of importance of children in the media.
Mrs.Vasuramma - Joint Secretary
Vasuramma is the President of Sri Gayathri Women Welfare Development Society, a non-governmental rural developmental Civil Service Society, working in Rayalaseema region in Andhra Pradesh. The Society is committed to promote sustainable, equitable and constructive development for rural needy, poor and disadvantaged communities and works on issues like health, education, livelihoods, watershed management, disabled welfare, women in difficult circumstances, aged welfare, street children, skill based &vocational trainings, women empowerment, and social justice.
Mrs.N. Radhamma - Executive Member
Radhamma has been working on the issues of women and child rights for over 10 years. As the Joint Secretary and the District General Secretary at PVCR she is responsible for addressing issues related to child labour, child marriage, access to health Services for children, interacting with the Government for provision of health cards, scholarships and promoting child friendly policies, activating anganwadi services to name a few.
